Once again we are offering a multitude of excursions and other activities this Wintersemester 2011/12. Three weeks before each excursion, you will receive a newsletter with all the important information you need. Two weeks beforehand you can sign up online on anmeldung@erasmus-on-tour.de for the specific tour. You can pay during the office hours of Bettina Kroppach, Wednesdays from 9 -12 in room J009. Tonight, we are going to discover the Hildesheim night life with you! We will meet at 7.30 pm at „Hindenburgplatz“ which is located right by the city center and which is also a popular place to meet and have fun. We then will divide into groups and visit different bars together. This will be a good opportunity for you to try some German beer and get to know each other better. And who knows? We even might end up on a dancefloor!
Hanover is the capital of Lower Saxony and really close to Hildesheim (only half an hour by train!). You will probably visit this city several times during your stay in Hildesheim so this is your chance to get a first impression of this beautiful place! At first we will show you the most important sights and climb up the tower of the town hall to enjoy the wonderful view. Afterwards you are free to discover the city on your own and return home whenever you like. We hope you will join us!
Let’s visit the university town Göttingen! We will take the train from Hildesheim and then join in a sightseeing tour around the city center which will lead us to the highlights of Göttingen. The tour is in English and will take 1,5 hours. Afterwards we will have lunch and then there will be time to discover the city on your own. Whether you are interested in history, nature, arts or culinary specialities, Göttingen offers possibilities for all kinds of entertainment. You can return home whenever you like – or, if you haven’t had enough, enjoy one of the many nice pubs or bars together with us.
We are going to spend our weekend trip in Dresden, a beautiful city in the east of Germany. The city is also called “Florence of the Elbe” as its closeness to a river and its Mediterranean and baroque architecture remind you of the famous Italian city. During our sightseeing tour you will discover the historical city centre that has been completely destroyed during the Second World War and was rebuilt afterwards. Moreover we will make a boat trip on the Elbe, visit the famous Frauenkirche and the Semperoper. We are looking forward to an unforgettable weekend with you in the Florence of the Elbe
Today we are going to Goslar, the 1000-year-old emperor city! We will have a guided tour during which we will see all the towers, churches, and timbered houses and find out why it is part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage. In the evening, we will visit the Christmas market and drink „Glühwein“, hot chocolate or try some of the delicious food. And maybe we are lucky and it will be snowing :-)
There will be a winter tour this semester! We don´t know the destination for sure yet, might be the Harz mountains, might be ice skating. Yet for sure it will be a cold but fun day! :-)
