Billards
Stars & Fun Center

The Stars&Fun Center is one of the best locations for playing billiards. There are 18 modern
tables and another 4 for playing snooker. You have to pay a certain amount per hour. Depending
on what day and what time you want to play one hour costs between 4.20 € and 7.80 €. For further information just go to:

There is also a huge bowling centre and you can play other games like Shuffle Puck.

You will have to pay 3.50 € when entering the centre. You will get a voucher worth 3.00 € to spend on food or drinks. So if you order any food or drink, all you pay for the entry is 0.50 €.
TIP: Tip: If you want to play in the evening go and play on a Monday. It’s the cheapest day and playing billiards for one hour only costs 4.20 €.
How to get there: The Stars&Fun Center is very close to the city centre, only 10 minutes away from the central station. It’s in the basement of a large parking garage in the Osterstraße.
Bowling
You should definitely book in advance, especially if you want to go at the weekend.

The prices are not too expensive but vary depending on day and time. On Tuesday students only pay 1.70 € per game.
How to get there from Hanover:Take the tram line 1 or 2 to the stop called “Brabrinke”. You have to buy a GVH-Ticket of the cheapest category (Preisstufe 1). When you get to the stop, walk back about 100m and you’ll see the Bowling Centre right above the “Media-Markt”. How to get there from Hildesheim:Take the train to Hannover and get off at the stop “Hannover Messe/Laatzen”. Not every train stops there so you have to check at the timetables for train departures. Follow the signs indicating the way to the “Hildesheimer Straße” (main street with a tramway) and turn right. It will take you 10 minutes to get to the Bowling Centre. You can use your Semesterticket so that you don’t need to buy another ticket.
Bowling am Maschsee

“Bowling am Maschsee” is one of the most famous bowling centres in Hannover. It is a little farther from the city centre in the district of “Döhren“. You can easily get there by tram.

How to get there:Take the tram line 1, 2 or 8 to the stop “Fiedelerstraße“(buy a GHV ticket Zone 1 from the city centre). At the stop you go on, turn left at Mc Donalds and walk 200m until you get to the “Heuerstraße”. You will find the Bowling Centre on the right.

The Stars & Fun Center is certainly the most central Bowling Centre in Hannover. There are 24 bowling alleys and you can borrow bowling shoes. The prices for one game of bowling vary depending on time and day. To find out the prices just check the homepage of the centre.

Miniature golf
Bahnen-Golf-Club Hannover

The “Bahnengolf-Club Hannover” is one of the best facilities you can possibly imagine for playing miniature golf. There are two different courses with 18 holes each. There is one of the well-known eternite courses and the other one is a huge concrete course that really challenges you.

Sat & Sun: 10.00 am – 10.00 pm (Last entry at 8:30 pm)
Admissions: 2.50 € for one lap on the concrete course, 2.00 € for one lap on the eternite course (including clubs and golf balls)
How to get there:Take the tram lines 3 or 7 to the stop "Tresckowstraße" (buy a GHV ticket Zone 1 from the city centre), walk right along the bushes and you’ll easily find the “Bahnen-Golf-Club” which is straight ahead.
Swimming
Aqualaatzium

The “Aqualaatzium” is a huge indoor swimming pool with many facilities for sports and relaxing. It was built only a few years ago. There is an indoor area with various swimming pools and a big slide as well as several outdoor swimming pools. Also there are many different saunas.

How to get there from Hanover:
Take the tram line 2 to the stop "Laatzen/ Stadtbad" (from the city centre you need a GVH ticket Zone 2).
You’ll see it once you get off the train.
How to get there aus Hildesheim:
Take the train to “Hannover Messe/Laatzen” (not every train stops at that station!).
Don’t walk into the station building but walk down the platform into the direction you came from, walk up the stairs to the bridge and turn right.
You’ll get to the “Hildesheimer Straße” (main street with a tramway). Turn left. After about 100m you’ll get to a large crossing where the rails of
the tram part. Turn right (before walking under the bridge). You’ll find the swimming pool on your right. (It takes less than 5 minutes to get there
from the train station)
Badeinsel Steinhude 
The "Steinhuder
Meer"
is a large lake in the north east of Hannover. It is 29 km² large and the biggest lake in Lower Saxony. In 1974 the lake and the
surrounding area were made a natural preserve which is why it is protected. The “Steinhuder Meer” is a paradise for nature lovers. There are
many ways to spend your free time there. One of the nicest places to relax is the island in “Steinhude” which has a sandy beach.
You can get to the island over a bridge. Sometimes there are parties or concerts which you have to pay for to visit. Apart from that it’s free to go to the islands, swim and sunbath.
How to get there:
In Hanover take a train to the station “Wunstorf”. Hop on a bus of the lines 710,711 or 716 in the
direction of “Steinhude”. You’ll need a GVH Ticket Zone 3. If you are in a group you might want to buy a “Niedersachsen-Ticket”. In Steinhude
you walk to the “Uferpromenade” and you’ll easily get to the Island.
Stadionbad

If you like swimming as a sport the “Stadionbad” is the right choice. There is a 50m pool and diving platforms from 1m to 10m. They also offer water gymnastics with music, aqua jogging and swimming nude.
Opening hours: Vary because there are many competitions taking place. Check their homepage for more information.
Admission fee: approx. € 3,20.
How to get there:
Hot to get there: Take the bus 131 from the “Kröpcke” (opposite the opera) to the stop
“Stadionbad” (buy a GVH ticket Zone 1)
Strandbad Maschsee 
The Maschsee is a lake in the heart of Hannover and one of the most popular relaxation areas of the city. You can do many kinds of sports or just relax. Especially the “Strandbad Maschsee” is a great place to do so. It’s situated at the southern bank of the lake. There you can take a relaxing sunbath and jump into the lake to freshen up.
Admission is free
How to get there: Take the tram line 1, 2 or 8 to the stop “Döhrener Turm“ (buy a GVH ticket zone 1). Walk on the side of the road where the tower is into the forest and straight through. That way you will get to the bank of the Maschsee. The “Strandbad” is on the left.
